INCREASED demand from her Stateside clients has seen Midge set up a regular guitarists nail clinic in Carmel, California.

Chic Carmel-by-the-Sea - famed for its links to film veteran Clint Eastwood - is a creative hub for West Coast musicians and visiting performers.

Midge currently visits regular US clients every three months to apply custom-shaped nails, and runs master-classes for each client teaching them how to maintain their nails until her next visit. Guitarists can also call Midge in the UK for personal nail maintenance lessons via Skype, webcam or over the telephone.

One recent convert is renowned film score composer Mark Mancina, who described his nails as “fantastic”. Mark, whose award-winning work includes music for a string of movie hits including Shooter, The Lion King, Training Day and August Rush (released this October), has recently moved to the area from LA to set up a specialist guitar shop.
